76: Elise Kellond-Knight

If anyone needed proof of Kellond-Knight’s consistency, she holds exactly the same place in these rankings as she did a year ago. After leaving behind the Bundeslig, she began her year in Sweden with Hammarby and then returned to Australia for a crack at the W-League, where she scored two for Melbourne City against Perth Glory but ultimately ended up on the losing side. Shefeatured regularly for Australia and should continue to do so when the Matildas head to France as dark horses next year. Her wand of a left foot will surely play a big role in any Aussie success.

Jackie Bachteler, Hammarby assistant manager:

“Elise is a mastermind problem-solver, coming up with solutions that make everyone around her better. Her leadership abilities, intelligence and character on and off the pitch was an absolute honor to be coach and be around. Elise is a diamond to any team.”
