93. Melanie Behringer

The classy German, listed in our top three just two years ago before injury wiped her out in 2017, sneaks back in after a decent year. The 33-year-old was a reliable leader as Bayern tried to chase down a quality Wolfsburg side in both league and cup and her performances showed glimpses of the qualities she will always be remembered for. Sadly another knee injury curtailed her year early but there remains hope that she will return fit and firing next year.

“Melanie is an almost complete player and great personality, who goes ahead with great will. Although she was repeatedly plagued by injuries, she has again led our team to the German runner-up, and again after 2012 in the DFB Cup final.”
