1) Tim Sherwood urges patience from Tottenham fans, and perhaps more importantly, the board. The Spurs boss believes he remains “on trial” after the clubs 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

2) Speaking to MUTV, Wayne Rooney called the shock 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool “a nightmare” and the lowest point of his career to date.

3) Whilst Tomas Rosicky took the plaudits for his first minute rocket against Spurs, Arsene Wenger hailed defensive duo Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as one of the strongest pairings in the league. An efficient display which was capped with Man-of-the-Match award to Kosceilny.

4) Following a stormy head-to-head between Joe Hart and George Boyd, Hull City manager Steve Bruce backed his player despite accusations of Boyd spitting at the Man City goalkeeper.

5) Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool can finally end their well documented 24 year barren run for a league title. The Liverpool captain also admitted he felt over confident when taking the third penalty at Old Trafford, which resulted in him hitting the post.

6) Brazilian legend Rivaldo has finally called time on his playing career. The 41-year-old’s final club was at third tier side Mogi Mirim, acting as both club president and player. (BBC)

7) Has fan power returned to triumph over player power? Protests from a section of AC Milan fans called the “Ultras” resulted in some fans participating in a secret meeting with Clarence Seedorf’s players – including Kaka and Mario Balotelli. (BBC)

8) Liverpool’s victory at Old Trafford shone brightly for all to see. Unless you were sitting behind Argentinian legend Diego Maradona, showing off more than his fair share of bling. He must have done his homework on Manchester watching Coronation Street…(Daily Mail)

9) If Arsenal were a bit more snappy, they’d probably be top of the league. For now though, it’s more happy snaps, with Arsenal players celebrating their victory of North London rivals Tottenham with a post-match selfie to remember…(Daily Mail)

10) The FA have today released a film urging players and supporters to stand up to discrimination and abuse. Illustrated by artist Paul Trevellion and presented by former players Dion Dublin and Graeme Le Saux, it urges players to report abuse. (Telegraph)
