INTERVIEWS: Families of England stars arrive in Canada
One thing that is really important to every one of the 23 women in England’s squad for this tournament is family. Plenty of them have made the trip out to Canada for the Women’s World Cup and we caught up with a few around Moncton in the build-up to the opening game against France.
Whilst Ken Duggan (granddad of Toni) and several others were about, we caught up with the parents of Karen Carney, Steph Houghton’s father Len and Katie Chapman’s partner Mark.
Carney’s parents say their daughter was always convinced she’d play for England, whilst Houghton senior says he and his daughter talk about football all the time.
