EXCLUSIVE: Canada boss John Herdman denies that he’s ‘figured England out’

Despite suggesting he’s ‘figured England out’ ahead of his second face-off against his home nation in just a month, Canada head coach John Herdman denies he knows how England will line-up on Saturday night, but did say they were just ‘another European team’.

Fortunately, Kait and Lynsey managed to grab Herdman during a Thursday afternoon jog through Vancouver to quiz him on the game that will decide if England can progress to next week’s semi-finals.

Whilst denying that Canada have a huge rivalry with the country he was born in, England will be looking to avenge the 1-0 defeat to the hosts dished out in a pre-tournament friendly and Canada will want payback for the Cyprus Cup defeat earlier this year

Herdman sounded surprised regarding how much Mark Sampson has changed his England team throughout the tournament and knows he’ll be in for a tough game on Saturday.

He also discusses tactics, why Canada’s games so far have been too close to call and which job would persuade him to return to the UK…
