6. Dzsenifer Marozsán

There’s not a lot to say about Dzsenifer Marozsán that hasn’t already been said during her career, which is impressive when you consider she’s only 25.

Marozsán once again played a key role in Lyon’s success in 2017, orchestrating the team’s attacks by linking midfield and attack with consummate ease.

The creative midfielder was particularly at home in the Champions League, scoring big away goals in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively against Wolfsburg and Manchester City.

The Germany international scored her penalty in the final against PSG and took her place in the Squad of the Season, largely thanks to the five assists she’d racked up on her way to the showpiece occasion in the final.

Like other members of our top 10, it was less simple on the international stage. Marozsán only found the net a couple of times as Germany failed to find top form under Steffi Jones, the 25-year-old’s penalty against Russia at Euro 2017 a brief highlight.

Lucy Bronze, Lyon team mate says:

“Dzsenifer is just the best, sees everything and is capable of anything. Both player’s that play with and against Maro are constantly in awe of Maro’s ability.”
