63. Lara Dickenmann

It might be hard to stand out from the crowd in what is a star-studded Wolfsburg attack, but Lara Dickenmann has always proven to be a consistent performer for both club and country.

The left winger takes on a more prominent role for Switzerland than perhaps she does Wolfsburg, but she scored a brace in a recent Champions League demolition of Atletico Madrid.

On the international stage, Dickenmann was once of Switzerland’s key players at Euro 2017, scoring the opener in a group game against Iceland, before they were eliminated by the end of the group stage.

Dickenmann’s highlight came when she scored the winning goal in the final of the Cyprus Cup to hand the Swiss the tournament for the first time.

“Lara had a very long and tough season with German side Wolfsburg, so from a physical point of view she was not always able to play at her best level in the national team all the time. With her huge personality and leadership, she is extremely important for the team, as well during the Euro’s. I am very happy she continues playing for the national team.”

“Lara’s advantages include a high understanding of the game, good passing and strong dribbling. Lara is flexible and also a creative player who can score and assist goals for us.”

Adam Barlow, European women’s football writer says:

“Dickenmann really stood out for Wolfburg in 2017 as the club won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double, with Dickenmann at the heart of the midfield. She has continued her good for this time around too and has two UFEA Champions league goals to her name so far this season. She represented Switzerland at the Euro’s and scored in their 2-1 win over Iceland in the group stages.”
