68: Patri Guijarro
One of the most talented midfielders in Europe, Guijarro performed strongly at club level this year and shone in the Under-20 World Cup – earning her a place in the top 100 for the first time. The 20-year-old started 2018 with three goals in as many league games for Barcelona and, while there would be no league title, she did help her side win the Spanish Cup. But it was during the summer that Guijarro announced herself to the rest of the world. A hat-trick in Spain’s opening match against Paraguay, followed by three further goals in three games, saw her walk away with the golden boot.
Fran Sanchez Bas, FC Barcelona manager:
“Patri has had a great year. She is a creator but she has potential in the physical and aerial areas of the game, she has a huge amount of potential.”
