51. Sarah Bouhaddi

If there’s one thing you can say with certainty, it’s that you never quite know what you’re going to get with Lyon’s Sarah Bouhaddi.

One of the best in the world on her day, Bouhaddi can float between the sublime and the crazy, and scoring the winning penalty in the Champions League final sort of sums up her year.

Winning the SheBelieves Cup with France, Bouhaddi returned to Lyon and took part in the decisive shootout against PSG in Cardiff, stepping up to slot home the winner after a tense match.

During the game, she made a key save to deny Shirley Cruz and showed why Lyon trust her to be their number one.

Lucy Bronze, Lyon team mate says:

“Goalkeeper by name, footballer by nature. Sarah is one of the few top keepers who has mastered playing out. So self assured and confident in her ability she possesses with her feet, she can see and execute passes that most outfield players wouldn’t dream of doing.”
