24: Jordan Nobbs

An ACL injury has cruelly ruled Nobbs out for the rest of 2018 and, very likely, the 2019 World Cup but that does not detract from the form she has been in this year. Deservedly rising seven places in these rankings, her ability to influence games with goals, assists and general control is unmatched by most around the world. Unleashed by Joe Montemurro this season, Nobbs had already scored nine goals from midfield in Arsenal’s opening seven games, proving just how much quality she has and providing a significant reason for Arsenal’s early dominance of the league.

Joe Montemurro, Arsenal manager:

“Jordan is a really pro-active player. She’s a high energy midfielder with a great eye for goal and another player who has been excellent this season.”

Phil Neville, England head coach:

“Jordan is a model pro on and off the field and was a key part of the Lionesses’ World Cup qualifying campaign. She started the 2018/19 season in great form at Arsenal, scoring eight goals. We were all devastated to learn of her injury. We’re all thinking of her and wishing her a speedy recovery.”
