30: Shanice van de Sanden

Van de Sanden drops slightly this year due to a lack of consistency and not always being a regular starter, but earns her lofty position after the remarkable impact she had in the biggest game of the year. With Lyon trailing 1-0 in extra time of May’s Champions League final, Van de Sanden came on and used her fresh legs to devastating effect in setting up three goals in quick succession. She opened her account for the new season on the opening day against Lille and scored three goals this year as the Netherlands qualified for the World Cup, including one against Denmark in the play-offs.
