78. Beth Mead
2019 was a big year for Mead. Often put in the shadows at club level by Vivianne Miedema, some stern conversations with England head coach Phil Neville provided her with a turning point. Big goals against Brazil and Japan as the Lionesses won the SheBelieves Cup saw Mead go on a run to the end of the season where she hit top form, earned herself a World Cup spot and played regularly. She broke the FA WSL assists record to help Arsenal win the FA WSL title and created the most goals for England at the World Cup too. She also found the net in England’s most recent match and Mead is now starting to get the recognition she’s deserved for a number of years.
