87. Jessie Fleming
Another star who is playing well beyond her years. Fleming re enters the top 100 this year and at 21 it’s incredible to think she has still been playing college football but now played at two senior World Cups. She’ll hit 70 senior international caps at the start of 2020 despite having never played the game professionally, though that will soon change as she comes to the end of her time with the UCLA Bruins. Whether she heads to Europe or goes into the NWSL draft remains to be seen, but this ball-playing midfielder has every chance of going all the way and once again showed her qualities on the world stage in France during the summer. May she be the player to surpass the likes of Formiga when it comes to World Cup appearances?
Amanda Cromwell, UCLA Bruins head coach:
“Jessie is the consummate professional. She understands the game and how to bring others into it. One of her best qualities is making everyone around her better. Jessie’s skill, vision, determination and overall fitness is unmatched. Not many midfielders in the world have her work rate…male or female! It’s been an absolute honor to coach her for four years at UCLA. “
