Top 100 2019 Marta Torrejon

Few have appeared more regularly for club and country with such quality throughout 2019 as right-back Marta Torrejon. The skillful Spaniard may not have the reputation of a Lucy Bronze but her quality is no less for it. From January to May, Torrejon found the net six times from defence and played a pivotal role in helping her team reach the Champions League final for the first time. She took that momentum into a starting spot at the World Cup, featuring in all four games before her Spain side fell to eventual champions USA. At 29, Torrejon may have already hit her peak but that’s no bad thing given how good that peak is.
