Liverpool v Tottenham – over 2.5 goals
Tottenham come into this game on a high following their massive result against local rivals Arsenal. Harry Kane is making scoring goals look easy and bagged two against the Gooners. Liverpool come off the back of a 0-0 at the weekend in another hard-fought Merseyside derby with Everton. Although Spurs may have the edge in this match, Liverpool won’t go down without a fight and I believe this game has the opportunity to be an all-out goal fest. Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling are both injury doubts, which may cost Brendan Rodgers if they miss the game.
Best odds – 7/10 (William Hill).
Hull v Aston Villa – 2-1 win in favour of Hull.
Hull have been poor this season and sit in the relegation zone, while Aston Villa hover just above due to an appalling lack of goals. The hosts pulled off a shock draw with Manchester City but Villa also just lost out to Chelsea. Hull will have the confidence to win this game and the opportunity to pull themselves out of the danger zone will help them triumph.
Best odds – 9/1 (BetFred). £9 for every £1 you put on.
Huddersfield v Wolves –Benik Afobe first goal scorer.
Benik Afobe shot into the spotlight after his impressive showing against Manchester United earlier in this season. He went on to score many more goals for MK Dons before he was poached by Wolves. Afobe scored again last weekend and is catching the attention of Premier League sides. Huddersfield have been a better side since the appointment of former Charlton manager Chris Powell. They beat Millwall comfortably last weekend but will be missing striker Nahki Wells following his red card.
Best Odds – 13/2 (Bet Victor).
Barnsley v Fleetwood – Fleetwood win.
Fleetwood are doing well in the Football League under the management of Graham Alexander and Chris Lucketti – who were both known for their prowess on the field – as they lead them nearer to the Championship. Both sides showcase some real talent with Jamie Procter leading the line for the Cod army and ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Ross Turnbull at Barnsley. The visitors will see this as a great chance to beat Barnsley who’ve slumped to a disappointing 15th place.
Best Odds – 7/4 (Coral)
Southend v Cheltenham – Southend to win by 2 goals.
Southend have hit some fine form in recent weeks and look like promotion contenders. Cheltenham have been weak all season but have signed three new strikers, including Bristol loan star Wes Burns, who scored at the weekend. The hosts will be looking to advance their goal difference and close the gap on the automatic promotion spots.
Best odds – 4/1 (BetVictor). You will receive £4 for every £1 you put on.
