Bury v Northampton – over 2.5 goals
Bury have hit form at the best time possible, winning six out of their previous seven games as they chase promotion to League One. But Northampton will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Carlisle. Shakers manager David Flitcroft will hope that Tom Eaves can produce a good performance on his home debut, following his arrival from Bolton. Bury will be looking to close the gap on the final automatic promotion spot to one point with victory against a high-flying Northampton side. There will be goals in this game as both sides will be looking to attack from the start and gain three vital points.
Best odds – 16/18 (Coral).
Southampton v Burnley – Draw
Burnley are pushing to stay in the Premier League and will be looking to build on their huge 1-0 victory over current champions, Manchester City. Southampton are no pushovers and are on a high themselves following a good result against a very strong Chelsea side. Both teams want to improve on their current positions and I believe the visitors will earn themselves a point in this contest. Burnley’s Kieran Trippier and Ben Mee will look to put in further good performances this weekend to help maintain their Premier League status.
Best odds – 9/1 (Bet 365). £9 for every £1 you put on.
Blackpool v Leeds –Luke Murphy first goal scorer.
Leeds have had a season of mixed fortunes and have overcome a very difficult time off the pitch. Similarly, Blackpool have also been embroiled in turmoil behind the scenes. Both teams have failed to set the Championship alight, and Pool currently sit bottom of the table – with most teams confident of getting three points against them. Luke Murphy has been in fine form of late for Leeds and will be looking to open the scoring to take his team further up the table in a fixture I can see them winning with consummate ease.
Best Odds – 11/1 (SkyBet).
Peterborough v Chesterfield – Peterborough win.
Peterborough have finally started to pick up some heat following a very poor start to the season. Luke James scored his first goal of the season last weekend and will be looking to jump into this fixture with his goalscoring boots well and truly on. Chesterfield have looked a different side following the departure of their top goalscorer and have struggled for goals in League One ever since. I see this game being quite one-sided with Peterborough winning the game by two or three goals.
Best Odds – 12/2 (Bet Fred)
Stevenage v Dagenham & Redbridge – Stevenage to win by 2 goals.
Stevenage have become notorious for being hard to score against and difficult to play against in League Two. Their pitch is known for being bumpy and difficult for any travelling team looking to walk away with three points. Dagenham & Redbridge have had an awful season and currently sit closer to the relegation zone than they would have preferred. Stevenage will be looking to climb closer to the play-off spots and I feel that the visitors will struggle on the surface and leave with nothing.
Best odds – 8/1 (SkyBet). You will receive £8 for every £1 you put on.
