Liam Smith gives his tips on a selection of games from the Premier League, and Leagues One and Two play-off finals.

Hull City v Manchester United – over 2.5 goals

Hull City go into their final game knowing that a win against Manchester United — and other results going their way — could see them climb out of the relegation zone on the last day of the season. United no longer have a chance of securing third spot and will have to play the Champions League qualifier at the beginning of the new campaign. Louis van Gaal’s men should be too strong for the Tigers in the end, but there will be goals in this game and neither team will keep a clean sheet.

Best odds: 3/10 (Bet365)

Newcastle v West Ham – 3-1 win in favour of Hammers

Newcastle must win to secure safety in the Premier League, but they go into this vital match on the back of their ninth defeat by relegated QPR at the weekend. While West Ham also lost to a resurgent Everton, I can see Big Sam finishing the season strongly with an emphatic victory here. This is sure to be an exciting clash — keep your eyes on this one!

Best odds: 10/1 (Paddy Power). £10 for every £1 you put on.

Everton v Tottenham – Romelu Lukaku first goalscorer

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has scored 21 goals in all competitions this term and will want to finish off the season with another goal to his name. But the Toffees face Tottenham, who are no pushovers, and have a big goal threat of their own in England hero Harry Kane. I can see Everton taking this game by the scruff of the neck early and Belgian ace Lukaku scoring a goal inside the first ten minutes.

Best Odds: 8/1 (Coral).

Southend v Wycombe Wonderers – Southend win

Southend and Wycombe picked themselves up after being pipped to automatic promotion by Bury and won their semi-finals to set up this clash of heavyweights in the League Two play-off final. Southend manager Phil Brown will be looking to add a promotion to his glittering CV to help guide his career back to the Premier League, while Wycombe are aiming to get back into League One after a four-year absence. Neither team will go down without a fight, but I see the wide play of David Worrell winning this game with a piece of magic for Southend.

Best Odds: 1/5 (Betfred).

Preston North End v Swindon Town – Preston to win by 2 goals

Preston have picked themselves up following a blip against MK Dons, while Swindon have continued battling. The Robins performed well to end Sheffield United’s promotion chase over the two legs of their League One play-off semi-final. Both teams are desperate to get back into the Championship where they feel they belong. Mark Cooper’s men will be hoping to get off to a good start, but I see the 18 coaches of fans that Preston are taking to the game spurring their team on to a great victory.

Best odds: 9/1 (BetVictor). You will receive £9 for every £1 you put on.
