INTERVIEW: Laura Bassett looks forward to crucial Mexico clash
England midfielder Laura Bassett says her team ‘need more goals’ as they prepare to take on Mexico this evening in a crucial Women’s World Cup Group F encounter.
England lost their first match 1-0 to one of the favourites in France and will need a win against the Latin American nation to ensure they have a better chance of qualifying for the second round.
Notts County midfielder Bassett picked up her landmark 50th cap for her country against France, picking up a black eye in the process after an elbow from Camille Abily.
But the experienced 31-year-old is optimistic ahead of the Mexico game and spoke about the upcoming game on Friday night.
