INTERVIEW: Alex Greenwood discusses upcoming Colombia clash
Left-back Alex Greenwood is the youngest member of England Women’s World Cup squad in Canada, but she showed a calm head to change the game as her side chased a crucial opener against Mexico on Saturday.
Ironically, it’s unlikely Greenwood would have been one of the three chosen substitutes had it not been for Claire Rafferty’s injury.
But Greenwood’s wicked left foot immediately began to cause issues for Mexico, and she provided a pinpoint cross for England’s second goal of the game.
Now, the 21-year-old is looking to get more minutes on the pitch when England round off their Group F games against Colombia on Wednesday night…
