INTERVIEWS: Alex Morgan and Kelley O’Hara discuss Abby Wambach’s upcoming retirement

Abby Wambach will fall just short of 250 caps when she hangs up her international playing boots after Sunday’s Women’s World Cup final against Japan.

Whilst she may once again start from the bench as she did against Germany, Wambach will surely make her 248th appearance for her country at some point during the final.

Wambach was part of the side that were left heartbroken at the hands of Japan four years ago, and she more than most will want to avenge that defeat in Vancouver.

Before the match, a couple of her teammates discussed her impending retirement and her impact on women’s football in the US.
