Betting Tips: Spurs & Liverpool to score, Man City to get back on track, Southampton and Leicester to share the spoils

Now that the international break is over, it’s time for the domestic season to resume. Clubs will hit the ground running and start building up some momentum as we head for the hectic winter period. This game week throws up some exciting match-ups including Spurs vs Liverpool and Southampton vs Leicester. Hopefully it will be an exciting weekend to make some profit too. Kurt Bristoll shares his tips for the weekend…

 Tottenham vs Liverpool

The early game on Saturday sees Jürgen Klopp take charge of Liverpool for the first time. He faces a tough challenge in his first game as they face an in-form Tottenham team at White Hart Lane. Having just beaten Man City 4-1 in their last home game, Tottenham will be going into this match with the hopes of an equally impressive performance. Liverpool have yet to get going this season but are hoping the appointment of Klopp can reinvigorate the side and they can get a positive result here. This fixture almost guarantees goals – we’ve seen 22 goals in their last 5 meetings. Both teams to score seems to be the banker in this game, with it happening in Tottenham’s last 4 games and in Liverpool’s last 7.

Both Teams To Score – 4/6 with SkyBet

Man City vs Bournemouth

After defeats to West Ham and Tottenham, Manchester City seem to have put themselves back on track after the convincing 6-1 win against Newcastle. They face a Bournemouth side who have given a good account of themselves so far this season and currently sit above Chelsea in the Premier League. Even with injuries to Sergio Aguero and David Silva, I can’t see anything but a City win in this one. I feel that Bournemouth will at least grab themselves a goal. City’s defence is far from solid and they have conceded in their last 6 games in all competitions whilst Bournemouth haven’t failed to score since their controversial 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in August. I’m going for Manchester City to win and both teams to score.

Southampton vs Leicester

Both of these sides have made fantastic starts to the season. Leicester have been the surprise package of the league so far and have shown some great attacking football, while Southampton seem to have just hit their stride. After a disappointing defeat at home to Manchester United, Southampton have bounced back and beaten Swansea at home and Chelsea away. Picking a winner in this game is very difficult, although if you fancy an outside bet, Southampton to be winning at half-time and then for the final result to be a Draw is 16/1 with SkyBet – might not be a bad idea considering how often Leicester have come from behind this season. I’m going for Over 2.5 goals in this game, as in Southampton’s last 5 games, there have been a total of 19 goals, just below 4 a game on average, and in Leicester’s last 5 games there have been 22 goals, just over 4 a game on average.

Leeds vs Brighton

Brighton go into this game sitting top of The Championship, 2 points clear of Middlesbrough. Leeds are at the other end of the table and are struggling just 3 points clear of the relegation places. Leeds have only managed to obtain 3 points in their last 5 home games this season, including two recent losses to Birmingham and Ipswich. Brighton, on the other hand, are unbeaten this season, having picked up 6 wins and 4 draws. I expect the momentum to continue for Brighton in this one and for them to take home all 3 points.

Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich travel to Werder Bremen this Saturday looking to continue their perfect start to the season. Having won their first eight games and scoring 28 goals in the process it looks almost certain that they will pick up all 3 points here. Last season Bayern beat Bremen 4-0 in this fixture and I think a similar scoreline could be on the cards again. Bayern have scored 21 goals in their last 5 games and with Lewandowski firing on all cylinders, backing Bayern to win and over 3.5 goals in the game looks to be a great bet.

Bayern Munich to win and over 3.5 goals in the game – 11/10 with Bet365
