4. Gianna Infantino says he will withdraw from the FIFA presidency election if suspended EUFA president Michel Platini is allowed to stand. 7 candidates are currently in the running to replace Sepp Blatter, who is also suspended.

5. Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe believes he can become a world-class player under new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, having scored the first goal of his professional career against Rubin Kazan last week.

6. WWE wrestler and Preston North End fan Wade Barrett got more than he bargained for when he poured scorn on the form of Wayne Rooney, the England international was in attendance at their show in Manchester (The Independent).

7. Paul Pogba is known as much for his somewhat unique hair styles as he is for his undoubted footballing ability, but this is a taking it a bit far (The Daily Mirror).

8. Way back when there was a square TV aerial ‘The Squarial’, now Harry Redknapp and Garth Crooks have backed the introduction of a square toed football boot (WhoAteAllThePies).

9. The guy that took this penalty might try and blame his boots for the way he missed this one, but we don’t think there’s any excusing this effort (ESPN).
