Betting Tips: Leicester are unstoppable, Atletico will keep it tight at the back and Everton-Palace screams ‘goals’

With Christmas just around the corner, now is a great time to win a little extra spending money to put some great presents under the tree. After looking at this weekend’s match-ups here are Kurt Bristoll’s best bets for the weekend.

There seems to be no end in sight for Leicester City’s great run of form and results. They remain equal on points with Manchester City at the top, only behind on goal difference, and are currently unbeaten in their last seven league games, having won five of them and drawing the other two. Swansea, on the other hand, have had a pretty miserable run of results recently. After starting the season brightly, they now only have one win from their last ten league games and are struggling for goals. With the pressure mounting on Garry Monk, Swansea need to get a result here. Unfortunately for them, with Jamie Vardy and Leicester in the form that they are in I can’t see anything but a Leicester win.

Bristol City vs Blackburn Rovers – Blackburn to win

Blackburn Rovers have had a below-par start to the season. Three weeks ago they sacked manager Gary Bowyer and appointed Paul Lambert, but in his first two fixtures Lambert has managed a win and a draw and seems to slowly be turning the tide. Newly-promoted Bristol City are only two places outside the relegation zone and just the one point above the drop. Blackburn are unbeaten in their last five matches, whereas Bristol City have just one win in their last five games. Back Paul Lambert and Blackburn to take all three points here.

Granada vs Atletico Madrid – Atletico Madrid to win to nil

Atletico Madrid are flying at the moment. They are unbeaten in all competitions since the 30th of September and have won their last five matches, keeping a clean sheet in all four of those too. Granada are not having a great season. They have just one win in their last five games and are only one point outside the relegation places. Atletico have only conceded six goals in 13 matches so far in La Liga and Granada do not provide a real threat to their tight defence. I expect Atletico to win and keep a clean-sheet here.

Newcastle United vs Liverpool – Liverpool to win

Newcastle are having a miserable time as of late, currently in the relegation zone and showing no sign of getting out of it anytime soon. They have just one win in their last five games in the league – a very lucky 1-0 win against Bournemouth – and were hammered 5-1 in their last match against Crystal Palace. Liverpool seem to have finally found some momentum, winning their last three games in all competitions, including a fantastic 4-1 victory away to Man City. Liverpool seem to be a well organised team under Klopp and I expect them to have no difficulty in making it another bad afternoon for Steve McClaren’s men.

Everton vs Crystal Palace – Over 2.5 goals

The Monday night game sees seventh place Crystal Palace take on ninth place Everton at Goodison Park. Just one point separates the two sides and it’s difficult to pick a winner in this one, but luckily this game looks like it should guarantee us some goals. Last week Everton came away with a 3-3 draw away to Bournemouth in a thrilling game, while Crystal Palace demolished Newcastle 5-1 at home. Last season this fixture saw Crystal Palace win 3-2 and hopefully we’ll see just as many goals this time around.
