Kurt Bristoll picks out his five top bets ahead of a packed weekend of European football…
Blackburn Rovers vs Leeds United – Blackburn to win
It’s safe to say that both these teams have had pretty poor seasons – Leeds are currently 16th in the Championship and Blackburn are 17th – and although neither is likely to be relegated this season they will still need to make sure to pick up points so as to not slide further down the table. Blackburn have won three out of their last four games at Ewood Park, whereas Leeds only have one win in their last seven on the road and so I think Blackburn will win this one.

Norwich City vs Manchester City – Man City to win
After suffering a 3-0 defeat at Anfield last weekend, City find themselves 10 points behind Leicester at the top of the Premier League and will be looking for a big performance away to Norwich. The Canaries have just one draw and nine defeats in their last ten matches and now look destined for relegation. This match seems to be the perfect way for City to bounce back and challenge for the title.

Stoke City vs Southampton – Stoke to win
Recent results have seen Stoke City leapfrog Southampton into eight place in the Premier League and they will be hoping to secure a win here to chase the likes of Liverpool and Man United above them. Stoke go into this match having won three of their last four, drawing the other match away to Chelsea. Southampton meanwhile have two losses and one draw from their last three matches and I can’t see them getting a positive result here.

Udinese vs Roma – Roma to win
After last week’s defeat away to Frosinone, Udinese are just four points and two places above the relegation zone and will need to start picking up points soon to distance themselves from the rest of the pack. Roma are in decent form at the moment – they have won seven out of the last eight matches – and will look to continue that against a Udinese side that have won one out of their last ten. This should be a comfortable win for Roma.

Man United vs West Ham United – Draw
This is a match that is extremely difficult to call. Both teams have been in quite good form recently and have each won four out of their last five matches. United’s only blip was last week’s defeat to West Brom, while West Ham slipped up with a draw away to Norwich recently. Earlier in the season these two played out a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in the league and I can see a similar result on Sunday.
