Betting Tips: Sunderland to win the Tyne-Wear derby again, United & City to draw.

Kurt Bristoll selects his pick of the bets in what promises to be another fascinating weekend for club football across Europe, with Roma taking on Inter in Italy as well as two massive derbies in the Premier League.

West Brom vs Norwich – West Brom to win

After beating Man United in their last league game it now seems that West Brom have secured their position in next year’s Premier League – they are 11th on 39 points and 14 clear of the relegation zone. Norwich aren’t quite as fortunate. The Canaries are 18th and need to start picking up points soon if they are to have any hope of staying up. The Hawthorns has become a difficult place to travel this season and West Brom are unbeaten in their last eight games there, whereas Norwich have lost nine of their last ten away games. I expect Tony Pulis’ men to get the victory here.

Leeds United vs Huddersfield – Leeds to win

Leeds have finally picked up some momentum in their last few games to distance themselves from the relegation zone and now find themselves comfortably in mid-table. Huddersfield, meanwhile, are only six points clear of the drop and will want to pull further clear given that Rotherham have started to pick up some vital wins. Leeds go into this game having won their last three games in the Championship and having already beaten Huddersfield 3-0 away from home this season, so they should be confident of another victory.

Roma vs Inter Milan – Roma to win

Just five points separate these two sides in Serie A as 3rd place Roma take on 5th placed Inter Milan as they battle it out for a spot in next year’s Champions League. Roma go into this match having won their last eight matches in the league and will be confident facing an Inter side that has only one draw amid four losses in their last five away matches. I feel that Roma will come out on top in this one.

Newcastle United vs Sunderland – Sunderland to win

Sunderland travel to Newcastle for the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday – one of club football’s biggest rivalries. This is a fixture where form book doesn’t seem to matter… which is probably a good thing for both teams at this stage, as only one point separates the two clubs as they both desperately fight to keep their place in the league. For some reason Sunderland always seem to perform exceptionally in these matches: they are unbeaten in their last eight matches against Newcastle and have won each of the last six. I expect them to make it seven wins in a row on Sunday.

Manchester City vs Manchester United – Draw

As well as the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday, there is also the Manchester derby. Both of these sides have been inconsistent and frankly disappointing this season and both will already be looking forward to next season so they can start again from scratch. City couldn’t find the net in their last game as they could only draw away to Norwich, whereas United were lucky as they managed to force a replay after grabbing a late equaliser against West Ham in the FA Cup. At Old Trafford earlier in the season these two played out a 0-0 draw and I can see the scoreline being the same at the Etihad.
