Betting Tips: Newcastle could struggle, Tottenham to stun Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund get off to a flyer

Rich Laverty gives his tips on a selection of games from the Premier League, the Championship, Bundesliga and La Liga.

Clough to upset his old club

Burton Albion picked up an impressive home win over Sheffield Wednesday recently whilst Derby’s start to the season has been indifferent, given the players available to them.

Under the Friday night lights at a compact ground, with Nigel Clough facing some old friends, the stars may just fall in Burton’s favour at really good odds.

Best Odds: 11/4 (Coral)

Tottenham to win and BTTS

It’s back to where it all began for Jürgen Klopp in the Premier League as Liverpool look to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Tottenham’s start has been far from spectacular but they did keep a clean sheet against Crystal Palace, despite taking over 80 minutes to find the net. With Liverpool’s creaking defence, back goals on either side with Mauricio Pochettino’s men just nicking it.

Best Odds: 10/3 (Ladbrokes)

Newcastle vs Brighton under 2.5 goals

Newcastle’s start to the season hasn’t been what many imagined, despite a great looking squad and a Champions League winner in charge.

Brighton have managed just two goals on the road in two league games and defences could come out on top in this Saturday evening clash at St James’ Park.

Best Odds: 7/9 (Marathon Bet)

Dortmund -1

Many are tipping Borussia Dortmund and Thomas Tuchel to push Bayern Munich as close as ever this season and they kick off their season with a big game at home to Mainz.

With Dortmund looking to continue good home form from last season and a new-look side, expect them to come flying out of the blocks and win comfortably this weekend.

Best Odds: Evens (SkyBet)

Villarreal vs Sevilla over 3.5 goals

Jorge Sampaoli’s Sevilla can expect to provide much entertainment for fans of La Liga this season. Their opening game against Espanyol provided just the 10 goals for those tuning in and it’s something we could potentially get used to under the an Argentine manager.

Their attack is full of goals but they look increasingly weak at the back and Villarreal will certainly have goals in them at home this weekend. Over 3.5 goals is increasingly tempting at the odds on offer.

Best Odds: 7/4 (SkyBet)
