94: Tessa Wullaert
After struggling to find regular game time at Wolfsburg, Wullaert took on a new challenge in the second half of 2018 by joining Manchester City. She clicked into gear against Birmingham and West Ham, scoring one and assisting another two against the latter. The Belgian has continued to be one of her country’s biggest influences but her talents were not enough to secure them a World Cup spot.
Nick Cushing, Manchester City manager:
“Tessa’s best attribute is her technical level, she is by far up there with the best technical players I’ve ever worked with. She’s offensive, she sees passes and she creates goals that other players don’t see and I think that’s a real asset. And she wants to win, she’s come from a team in Germany that’s been a successful team and she wants to impose that and apply that with this team and that’s a real asset for us. She’s added a real ambition to the team, but by far her vision and her technical ability and her ability to set and create goals are her best attributes.”
