17. Tobin Heath
Another star whose role with the World Cup winning USA side pops her back into the top 20. Heath didn’t find the net in France but her contribution was no less for it and it was her pull-back which led to Megan Rapinoe’s second goal against the hosts in Paris. Heath’s energy, trickery and skill on the USA right wing caused endless issues for teams, Spain in particular in the second round, while Heath remained a key performer for Portland Thorns too. Overall, Heath hit double figures for goals in 2019 between club and country, setting plenty more up along the way in another really good year for the winger.
Mark Parsons, Portland Thorns manager:
“Tobin is the complete winger. Devasting on the dribble, world class delivery with both feet, and an incredibly intelligent footballer.”
