54. Mandy Islacker

Euro 2017 was far from the tournament star striker Mandy Islacker would have wanted coming off the back of a brilliant domestic season, but within Germany she continued to show her class.

Islacker was by far and away the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season, ending the season with 19 goals, five ahead of the next best in Vivianne Miedema.

Ironically, Islacker soon swapped Frankfurt for Bayern to replace Miedema in Munich. Four goals already this season have Bayern challenging at the top, but they currently sit just outside the Champions League spots heading into the second half of the season.

Thomas Wörle, Bayern Munich manager says:

“Mandy is an experienced, outstanding striker. Inside the box she can score goals with almost every part of the body. Due to her distinctive understanding of the game, she often perceives follow-up actions and she is a real goal-getter.”

Gina Lewandowski, Bayern Munich team mate says:

“Mandy Islacker is a typical scorer. She has the ability to be in the right spot at the right time in order score with either foot. Though she can use either foot, her left foot is fantastic. She is also able to defend balls well and turn on defenders going forward.”
